Nancy J. Courson, a Partner in the firm since 2006, became managing partner in 2014. She is a 1996 graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law. She has tried hundreds of cases before the Commission, has handled dozens of trials by jury throughout the Circuit Courts of Maryland and has argued several cases before the Appellate Courts. Nancy successfully argued the Chesson v. Montgomery Mutual case in the Court of Appeals, resulting in the exclusion of the claimant’s expert at trial. The underlying claims in that matter involved allegations of injury from inhalation of mold in the workplace. The case gained nationwide attention, as it requires that medical experts base their opinions on generally accepted scientific evidence.
